The Flora Archaeological Center located at Ashland Theological Seminary houses a collection of ancient artifacts from various parts of the biblical world. Included in the Center are examples of the earliest forms of writing on clay tablet, stone, parchment and papyrus. There are representative biblical and nonbiblical texts in cuneiform, hieroglyphic, Coptic, Syriac, Arabic, Greek and Latin. There are also folio pages of eary manuscripts and early printed Bibles. The majority of the collection consists of ceramic pieces from the daily life of the biblical world. Pitchers, bowls, clay lamps, metal objects, jewelry and glass from 4000 BC through the Arabic period are on display. The Flora Archaeological Center is open year round during the hours of operation of the Seminary which are 8am-5pm Monday through Friday during the academic year.
